SOFTBALL SEASON STARTS AT CAREY 2009/2010...........

What a sensational softball season at Carey!  Sadly the season came to an end after a short first term but happily celebrated at the annual presentation dinner.  Congratulations to Amy Prosser who, after many years of fabulous softball, was presentated the Katherine Taylor Memorial Award 2010, well done Amy, richly deserved.  We must also congratulate all our other award winners for the evening and have listed their names under the presentation night icon for your information.

Thank you to everyone who was involved with the success of this season, our players are second to none, our sportsmanship and level of achievement and talent are of the highest level and to our coaches and mentors, thank you for all your dedication, hard work and professionalism to make this one of the best seasons ever played.

We look forward to season 2010/2011 and ask that you keep your eye on this website for all good softball news.

If you have any questions, comments or some fabulous seasonal photos please contact Victoria Blakston our Teacher In Charge on  Victoria.Blakston@carey.com.au .

Important message from Paul Jepson for all matches on Saturday

Here are the expectations of staff and students in regard to sport and wet weather:

  • Your 1 st assumption should always be that sport is ON. Under no circumstances should you not turn up because you think it’s too wet. The safest policy is to turn up to the venue and if play is not possible, both coaches make the decision to call it off at the venue. This is standard practice in all outdoor sport.
  • If you have a home game and it’s raining been heavily for an extended period of time you can call the Carey wet weather line on 9852 0043. I will record messages throughout the morning. I will not call every coach individually to tell you your game is cancelled.
  • Away matches – it is the hosting teams responsibility to cancel games at their home venue, each school has a wet weather number (found on pp29-30 of the Carey school diary).

If you require further clarification please contact me.

Thanks

Paul Jepson, Head of Sport Carey
