The Club encourages parents to volunteer as team managers as they can play an important role in the development of teams and fostering parent support at games.

Team manager tasks may include:

  • Encourage parents to get to know each other
  • Prepare a team list with contact details – to help with arranging of shared transport and "last minute messages".
  • Prepare a roster for half-time oranges
  • Act as a contact person for other parents (eg to advise about son/daughterbeing unavailable due to illness
  • Assist coach as required with tasks such as:
  • collect balls after pre-match hit up
  • ensure all players have drink bottles, mouth guards etc
  • collect match ball after the game if Carey is home team
  • check that no players have left behind any gear
  • Inform staff in charge of hockey of any issues arising in relation to your team from players or parents
