MISSION STATEMENT
" To support the development of Hockey at Carey Grammar School"
History
The Carey Hockey Club was set up by a group of parents in 1995. The constitution was adopted in October 1995. Elise Cummins was the inaugural President and served the club for 3 years in that capacity (1995 - 1997).
Membership
The members of the club shall comprise of the following groups
- Carey students playing hockey at the school
- Parents of Carey students who play hockey
- Interested persons who register with the Secretary
There is no joining fee.
Participation in club activities provides a way for parents to make a contribution to the development of hockey at Carey and enhance the enjoyment students experience from playing hockey
Some of the activities undertaken by the club include:
- Annual skills clinic prior to the commencement of the season
- Assist with the organising of umpires for home games
- Encourage and support parent team managers
- Merchandise to promote Carey Hockey
- Support and assist the School with inter-school hockey events
- Arrange annual social and presentation dinner including sponsorship of some awards
- Contribute to the cost of events and equipment that will enhance the development of hockey at Carey
Meetings
There are 5 committee meetings per year including an Annual General meeting.
