In 2010, the Carey Cricket Club is planning to hold a two-day camp (Years 8-10) and a one-day clinic (Year 7) at Bulleen:
- The two-day camp will be held on 27th and 28th January and be open to Carey cricketers in years 8-10.
- The one-day clinic will be held on 29th January and be open to Year 7 Carey cricketers.
The
two-day camp will again be structured so that each day the players spend the first session in the nets and in the field improving batting, bowling and fielding skills, followed by a double wicket or Twenty/20 format game in the second session. This year the camp will cost $50 per
attendee to cover costs
The
one-day clinic for the Year 7s, will have a similar format to the camp with a session in the nets followed by a Twenty/20 game. It is an opportunity for the attendees to impress the selectors who will need to choose the teams for the first games of the season. The clinic will be free of charge.
The coaching at both the camp and clinic will be provided by qualified cricket coaches, with assistance from several current and recent Carey 1st XI students. The recent 1st XI players are currently playing senior cricket around Melbourne. Both the camp and clinic will be held between 8:30 am till 2:30pm so as to avoid the hottest part of the day in the late afternoon.
