July
Mediterranean Trip: Thursday 29 July 2010. A delightful day as we explored Italy, Greece and the Middle East...all within an hour of Carey! Many thanks to Maria for planning such a great adventure.
Dog Walk: Friday 16 July 2010. We enjoyed a walk with our dogs at Bulleen followed by a delicious hot chocolate at Harndorf's Fine Chocolates. The Bulleen parkland is a lovely area to stroll around whilst waiting for Saturday sport matches to begin! A bonus is the great off-lead dog area located along the banks of the Yarra River. Many thanks to Jenny for arranging such a popular event!

Special Morning Tea: Friday 4 June 2010. CLOSA Parents held a very special morning tea to welcome Yasmine Layher, our new
Principal's wife. Many thanks to Carin for hosting us.
CLOSA Parents Dinner: Saturday 19 June 2010. CLOSA Parents enjoyed a delicious banquet at the Little Thai Princess restaurant in Glen Iris. Many thanks to Jenny Littlewood for organizing a great night out!

Mother's Day Luncheon: Thursday 6 May 2010, at the Royal South Yarra Tennis Club, Toorak. CLOSA Parents hosted a table at this popular whole school event.
International Pot Luck Lunch: Friday 21 May 2010. We enjoyed a delicious lunch! Many thanks to Carolyn Goodwin for hosting us.

Carey International Women’s Day Breakfast: Thursday 11 March 2010 at 8.30am at the Abbotsford Convent Bakery, 1 St Heliers Street, Abbotsford (Melways ref 44 G5). CLOSA parents got together for breakfast to celebrate our International diversity. Special thank you to our guest Elisabeth Lenders for joining us.
Carey Open Day: Saturday 13 March 2010 1:30-4pm. Carey Open Day is a big event on the school calendar and CLOSA Parents were proud to be part of it. It was an opportunity to meet members of the local community, future and prospective parents.
International Pot Luck Lunch: Tuesday 16 March 2010 at 12.30pm. Special thank you to Michelle Day who kindly hosted us at her house.
CLOSA Parents Fundraising: Sunday 21 March 2010. We booked a stall at Camberwell’s popular Sunday Market. We received generous donations of pre-loved clothes, accessories, sportswear and equipment. Thank you to everyone who helped make it a successful event!

Welcome Morning Tea: 4 February 2010. It was great to welcome both new and returning CLOSA Parents at Replete Providore just a short walk from Carey, Kew. The room was full and the noise and excitement high, as we caught up on all the summer news and got to know several new parents who were attending their first CLOSA Parents event.
Chinese New Year Celebration: 11 February 2010. We welcomed in the Year of the Tiger in style at San Choi on Kew. Thank you to Chui Lee, He Ying and May Li who helped order us a sumptuous lunch of delicious Chinese delicacies. Kung Hei Fat Choi!
CLOSA Parents AGM: Monday 22 February 2010 CLOSA Parents established the first CLOSA Parents Committee and approved the constitution. Office bearers were elected. Many thanks to all who attended for their wonderful support and contributions.
CLOSA Parents - Events held in 2009
During 2009 the CLOSA parents group hosted the following events:
- International Pot Luck Lunches - An opportunity for members to share some of their favourite dishes from around the world.
- Exploring Melbourne - Queen Victoria Market, Walking the Tan at the Botanical Gardens, a market tour of the Prahran Market and the Abbotsford Convent.
- Morning Teas at a variety of local cafes close to the school.
CLOSA Parents support many of the wider Carey school events such as International Women's Day Breakfast and the Carey Mother's Day Luncheon.
In addition, CLOSA Parents offer an information booklet 'About Melbourne' which provides a valuable resource for newly arrived parents to Carey from overseas. Refer: About Melbourne
